Oculus Web is aligned to WebXR, the latest proposed standard for building VR Complete websites (websites that take over the full field of view in a VR headset) that replaces WebVR. In the future, the WebXR standard will expand to support MR and AR use cases across multiple devices.
Developers can build on WebVR today and transition to WebXR as it moves from the experimental phase to a stable, open standard.
If you’ve already built web-based VR content and want to optimize it for Oculus headsets, Oculus Browser is the place to start. It is the default browser for Oculus’s standalone VR products, which maximizes the performance of content on Oculus headsets. Oculus Browser also allows audiences to access popular immersive content from websites, Facebook, and a curated collection of WebVR developers.
